Should We Get a Second Wedding Photographer?
Why should you consider a second photographer for your wedding?
Although I photograph 80% of Weddings on my own, just me, the most awesome inclusive Wedding Photographer. I do still love having a second wedding photographer work with me on the day, and honestly I think you will too. I have easy add on’s to my wedding photography packages, so you can see the price of a second photographer and chose to add one on to your own wedding.
A second photographer is someone that I book for your wedding day, they’re always a professional photographer themself and I always pick photographers I work well with and know will be a safe space too. Excitingly I mainly work with my partner, April, who second shoots for me most of the time meaning you get an actual team of LGBTQ+ photographers for your day.
There’s so much happening on a wedding day that I, your main wedding photographer needs to capture for you, to make the most gorgeous finished gallery for you. Having a second wedding photographer as part of the team means they can focus on the things that I physically can’t because of time, space and logistics. If you have a large wedding (guests of 100+) I would always suggest having a second wedding photographer however there are some other things to mention if you’re thinking about adding a 2 wedding photographer team to your package.
Photograph more moments and memories
Candid’s and natural photos are big for a second wedding photographer, they really focus on those moments where I will be doing things like the group shots or couple portraits.
It also therefore means more photos, you will just receive more images in your final gallery. These moments could be interactions with loved ones, kids showcasing their moves on the dance floor, friends doing shots or Grandparents shedding a tear.
2. Capture parts of the day that would of been missed
I sadly can not be two places at once, so having a second wedding photographer is great for the those moments where I physically can’t be. Missing garden games whilst I’m with you for couple portraits, being at a different place whilst a friend gives you a present, or covering both partners for getting ready.
It also means different angles and a different perspective through the whole day. Having to angles for the first look, ceremony and speeches are all really big moments during the day that are so much easier to capture with two wedding photographers.
3. A fun and inclusive photography team
I LOVE working with someone on a wedding day, we vibe off each other and in turn share that with you to keep the atmosphere positive, upbeat and fun during your day and photo times. Not only are they photographing during your day but a great helping hand to assist me too, meaning I can make the best photos for you! Having support and keeping creativity high during group photos and couple portraits, as well as giving their professional opinion.
4. Because we love film photography
Although I am a digital wedding photographer, I also have film wedding photography options. Film wedding photography is SO GORGEOUS to add for your wedding day, and if you decide to having a back up photographer to help with both film and digital is such a great investment. April has been photographing analogue for over 10years and whilst I’m newer to it, having us both capturing both makes for the most gorgeous wedding gallery.

How does a second wedding photographer work?
As April works with me as a second wedding photographer the majority of the time, this works so well as I have a go to team member that’s part of the LGBTQ+ community and ready to photograph your awesome wedding for me. Working with her, or other people that are my go to second photographers, means that we won’t disturb your day, know how to work with each other so well & will get the best images for you.
All the images, mine & the second photographers, will be edited by me in my signature style and delivered in your full gallery by me. Although a large amount of photos will be the ones I’ve taken, you have booked me for a reason of course, the second photographers will blend in seamlessly to make for your finished gallery.
