Matara, Palm House: Inspiration
Last year I put together the most gorgeous LGBTQ+ inspirational shoot at the Matara Centre, a stunning venue with beautiful grounds. We used the amazing Palm House area of the venue, with outside covered areas, stunning natural plants and foliage and the most lovely light.
Being a UK LGBTQ+ Wedding photographer for me is so important to show representation of every love story. James and Steven were the perfect couple to help with this, both being beautifully in love to capture this as well as wanting to promote and showcase this too.
I've fallen in love with smaller and intimate Weddings, and although it will be exciting and refreshing when bigger Weddings can start again and when life restores to normal, however I will miss these smaller weddings that are okay to do and actually mean so much.
It also means concentrating on things you really love and want to spend money or time on, on your day. This shoot was really important to share stunning floristry, beautiful styling and the amazing and personal grazing platters- perfect to be COVID friendly.
I loved having James and Steven have a bouquet, really showing that "traditions" of Weddings don't have to be gendered and actually doing what ever you want is the most important. Beautiful flowers are beautiful flowers, no matter who holds them!
Not only is the Palm House stunning for an intimate wedding, but the grounds are so beautiful too. The stunning woodlands, open fields and lovely gardens, you feel totally immersed in the calm and love. Really focussing on the love that I got to capture.
Outdoor Weddings aren't for everyone, and that's totally okay, however having areas of the venue grounds or near by can be really amazing for even more stunning images of your day. Being able to change things up slightly, or really showcase different timings or ideas through the day.
